History of the towing industry in the United States
Tow drivers are real heroes of the highway in the US. Most of us don’t realize this until we need them. However, they are always just a call away. They are always here to recover vehicles after catastrophes, crashes, or any other encountered accident on the road.
Historical industry of the tow truck industry in the US
The tow truck industry in the US was started about a century ago, in 1916. It is an American entrepreneurship story started by one man named Ernest Holmes Sr. Ernest saw a need for towing about a century ago and worked accordingly to fill the gap.
A Tin Lizzie met an accident about a hundred years ago in 1916. Ernest Holmes Sr was the man who worked to get that out of the situation. Ernest and his friends used blocks, a slew of pulleys, and men to get the vehicle out of the creek.
After this incident, Ernest Holmes Sr., with his friends, drew the design board of a tow truck.
